St. Patty's Day at Johnny's

Saturday we went out to Johnny's Pizza, one of our favorite haunts. We got there and the place was pleasantly full. After trying to figure out whether we wanted garlic bread with cheese or cheese bread (cheese bread is our normal appetizer) we ordered our pizza and sat back to enjoy the evening. We talked about work, English literature (how did that one get in there?) and speculated on how long the guy at the table near us would wear the oversized green glasses and the green sparkly headband with shamrock antennas. We had our regular order of pepperoni pizza with half sausage and half black olives. After a leisurely meal, we watched as the little league baseball teams poured in, 20 minutes before closing. We then went for a short ride in the chick-magnet, decided we wanted dessert but realized that there was not a place nearby for dessert.

Sunday Febrary 4, 2007 SUPERBOWL SUNDAY

OK, I know that Superbowl Sunday is NOT the normal night for a couple to go out for dinner, but we did. We went to Chicago's Pizza, he wanted to try it out so we did. Mom was visiting my Grandmother for the day, so I told Dad that I had been asked out for dinner. He didn't say much at the time, little did I know he was gathering his thoughts. I found out he didn't like my date's car, looks, interests, or history. Wow, that leaves very little for him to like. But I have come to realize this is a struggle that has been going on between fathers and daughters for centuries. Who am I to buck the system?

On to the good stuff ..... we had pizza, and watched the first half of the Superbowl. Lucky me, there was a TV at the table and I could tune it to the Superbowl. Not that I am an avid sports fan, it just irritates me when he is watching TV and I don't know what he is chuckling about. Besides, the commercials are suppose to be the best part of the Superbowl .... not this year. I must admit the auctioneer wedding was funny!

Mozzarella sticks, pizza, Coca-cola, and a nice dinner, what could be more enjoyable? It was a great evening, hopefully many more to follow. Time will tell!
